Endoscopy-assisted suturectomy and postoperative cranial orthosis therapy for craniosynostosis are described in this study. From January 2017 to February 2022, nine patients with craniosynostosis were treated at our hospital with endoscopy-assisted suturectomy and postoperative cranial orthosis therapy. Sagittal sutures were fused in two cases, unilateral coronal suture in two, bilateral coronal sutures in two, frontal suture in one, unilateral lambdoid sutures in one, and sagittal suture and unilateral lambdoid sutures in one. At the time of surgery, the average age was 4.4 months (1-9 months), and the average weight was 6.4 kg (5.1-8.3 kg). The average operation time was 99.4 min (59-176 min), and the average bleeding volume was 87.9 ml (11-381 ml). Five of the nine patients required blood transfusion. This surgical approach is safe, effective, and yields positive results. Endoscopy-assisted suturectomy and postoperative cranial orthosis therapy have become a standard treatment for craniosynostoses in children under the age of 6 months.
