Abstract
We have been studied the weeping habit of Japanese flowering cherry in fields of Tama Forest Science Garden, Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute at the foot of Mt.Takao. Although, experiments in fields encountered with unexpected difficulties, many interesting interactions with various kinds of animal were observed. Moreover,I have found that allelopathy substance such as coumarin produced by the cherry may be related to the interactions.Based on the experiences,I would like to discuss physiological experiments in fields and the interactions between Japanese flowering cherry and various animals.
The study of the plant hormons having effects on the weeping habit has developed into the study closely related to gravitational biology. Recently, research of morphogenesis and gravi-sensor in Japanese flowering cherry is being focused. Thus in the present paper, I would like to talk about the effect of space environment on the mophogenesis of woody plants as well.
