Abstract
To analyze the gene function of Arabidopsis comprehensively, the mutant database system has built that is holding the phenotype information containing the picture of the mutants and the various information (domain, cis-element, ontology) about the candidate gene. And part of database is opened to public. The homology search tool, the domain search tool and the molecular phylogenic tree creation tool are built into this system. Using these tools and keywords of the phenotype and/or the gene and/or the related information, we can search and analyze complexly. We have discovered the genes with the function to be dwarfish and the new members of a gene family that starts abnormalities in the form of leaves using this system. Future, expression analysis which used the micro array and quantitative PCR, numerical observation of phenotype and quantitative phenotype measurement are carried out, then correlation analysis function between the expression and the phenotype is built.
