Abstract
This grant in-Aid has founded in 2005 for training program for plant graduate students from NAIST, supported by the ministry of education, culture, sports, science and technology, Japan. This is a totally new attempt, aiming at an establishment of an educational system linking nationwide universities and institutes, and cultivating young plant researchers for future plant science in Japan. We focus on the rapidly advancing field, the protein function analysis, with the goal of promoting education on the frontier technologies, such as the biochemical and proteomic analysis of intracellular protein complexes, and the visualization of those protein-protein interactions in living cells.
This project also funds graduate students majoring plant science, not only those in NAIST but those from all over Japan, for the intensive research and education programs. Those graduate students will have to apply their research proposals employing biochemical, proteomic, and microscopic analysis investigating plant protein function.
