Abstract
To clarify the processes involved in plant immunity, we have isolated and characterized Arabidopsis mutant, nsl2 (necrotic spotted lesion), which shows a phenotype that mimics the lesions seen in the hypersensitive response. Inoculation of nsl2 mutant plants with virulence pathogen shows the restriction of bacterial growth (Plant Cell Physiol . 2005, 46: 902-912).
To elucidate the function of NSL2, we performed yeast two-hybrid analysis to hunt for interacting-protein to the NSL2. Consequently, we identified Arabidopsis F-box protein NIFC1 (NSL2-interacting F-box group C1). Further characterizations will be reported.
