Abstract
To clarify the plant cell death processes involved in immunity response, we have isolated and characterized Arabidopsis mutant nsl2(necrotic spotted lesion 2; also reported as the cad1 previsously) which showed lesion mimic phenotype seen as hypersensitive response. In the nsl2 mutant, transcript of PR genes were promoted and endogenous SA and JA contents were increased. Inoculation of nsl2 mutant plants with virulence pathogen showed restriction of bacterial growth (Plant Cell Physiol. 2005, 46: 902-912).
To estimate nsl2 functions on plant immunity, we performed yeast two-hybrid screening. Consequently we identified TAT (Tyrosine Amino Transferase) protein as the NSL2 interactor. Further characterization will be reported.
