Abstract
This paper contains a study of orthogonal formulation for analytical orientation in space, which is a problem of great importance in photogrammetry.
Several methods of analytical orientation in space have been developed extensively during the last scores of years for aerial triangulation since electronic computers have become available. All methods of analytical orientation in space are actually based on the concept of iteration for solving non-linear equations.
From this standpoint, the author studied a possible solution of analytical orientation in space. Estimation of the computations involved in this central part of orientation in space is based on an orthogonal formulation which has been investigated by the author.
