Abstract
The debris-flow which occurred on the east slope of the Myoko Volcano on 18th. May, 1978, caused flooding which damaged the foot of the mountain, the shin Adadura Hot Sping.
Investigation of the area by field suryeys and serial photo inerpretation, both before and after the disaster, have shown the following results.
(1) The debris-flow flowed over the shallow part of the valley.
(2) The debris-flow flowed over at the bend of the river.
(3) The mounds similar to natural levee ditributed along the valley conterolled the flooded area diser: bution, These results are valvable for the prediction of future dens-flow disasters in volcanic areas.
