Abstract
For the terrestrial planets, the evolution of the plate is controlled by the thermal state of the interior. And vice versa, the thermal evolution is influenced by the plate thickness. We predict that the plate thickness is selected for the heat to be transported most efficiently from the interior of the planets to the surface. We will show the effects of the self-control of the plate evolution on the thermal state in the planets.
