Abstract

For developing high-strength bolted friction joints with much higher friction coefficients than conventional ones, slip tests of bolted friction joints with aluminum-sprayed splice plates are conducted by changing pitch of bolts and thickness of splice plates. The results show that slip coefficients are high in the case that pitch of bolts and thickness of splice plates are large. And there is a negative correlation between the friction coefficients of bolted joints and the averaged values of contact pressure which depend on pitch of bolts and thickness of splice plates.
