Setting prestressed disc springs at the end of the PC steel bars in a DRB (Displacement Restrained PC steel bar Brace) can provide an “initial story stiffness” to the brace, characterized by low stiffness until the story displacement reaches the “initial story displacement”, which system with disc springs is called DRBS. In this study, the range of DRBS study methods is expanded because “initial story displacement” and “initial story stiffness” are defined as variables. Additionally, the furniture tipping rate and the amount of furniture moved are calculated to evaluate the performance of the DRBS in both structural and non-structural elements.
