Pipeline from Niigata to Sendai was completed in March. Pipeline construction consists of various kinds of engineering works such as material technology, welding technology, civil engineering, etc. However it is not too much to say that steel structural engineering is one of the most important technologyamong them. In this thesis we would like to mention about the following items regarding steel structural engineering associated with the project. 1. Material technology and welding method 2. Field bending method 3. Seismic design of pipeline 4. Bridge design.
