Abstract
Eye movements during the evaluation of images were investigated using an eye-mark recorder. Subjects were asked to evaluate the "uniqueness" or the "unity" of design, while they watched cars in black-white images. In general, factors of uniqueness and unity were prominently observed for the evaluation of design. However, in the present study differences in the eye movement path between the evaluation of uniqueness and that of unity were not observed. Differences among the subjects were more outstanding and it seems that the individual strategy for the evaluation influences the eye movement.
