Abstract
This study aims to grasp the activity of development and promotion of traditional Japanese crafis based on newspaper articles issued from April 4,1993 to December 24,1993. Articles were collected by the newspaper referenee service according to the keyword : "traditional Japanese craft", "craft" and "traditional craft."106 pieces of newspaper article about traditional Japanese crafts were inputted to the database according to the classification which covers : "development of products", "interchange", "events" information source", "establishment", and "information for consumers."As a result. peculiar activities were defined and the point of improvement was suggested.
