Abstract
It have been said "discover new merits in district" for a long time. There are very diverse thoughts or philosophies rural life. This paper investigates an idealized method of living in a rural district through ideas of W. Morris, K. Miyazawa and S. Mushanokouji, who were pioneers examining this issue. They had similar ideals for a utopia besed on socialism and the beautiful natural environment of rural district. They thought a city was polluted by civilization, and in such conditions the joys of honest physical labor and the joys of life are never fully realized. Today's society is supported by new technology in transportation and communication, therefore it is necessary to explore the mental rich-ness of rural romanticism.
