Abstract
Impression of simple figures was investigated. A black triangle painted on white paper was used as the simplest figure. Impression of a set of several triangles with different bottom angles was sensory evaluated in high level item such as "elegant". Then, the impression was decomposed into three morphological elements "sharpness", "balance" and "flatness". On the other hand, the impression was synthesized with the values from these three elements by the means of multiple regression analysis, and the most "elegant triangle" was decided. Both figures of "the most elegant" from sensory evaluated and synthesized triangles were well agreed.
