Abstract
Society today is faced with the problem of resource exhaustion in many areas. Moderating resource consumption and promoting as much resource reuse as possible have thus become important issues. Clothes, too, confronts the problem of resource exhaustion. There was a concept of resource reuse in the cloth culture. The concept of Sakiori in textile culture was born out of the natural characteristics of Japan and has been one form of resource reuse. Author suggested the important of recognition for a maker mind and traditional thoughts by investigating document and holding an interview with the people in Tohoku area.
