Abstract
The author reconsidered the existing fetal monitor from ergonomic point of view and came up with the following findings and proposals.(1)the kind of interface between the machine and doctors or nurses which makes it easy for them to record the process of growth of a fetus.(2)the appropriate size and layout of controls that prevent erroneous operations.(3)an indicator with high visual clarity that prevents perceptual errors in operations. The fetal monitor with these improvements is expected to ensure the certainty and easiness to doctors and nurses in their handling of the monitor, and also to enhance the sense of safety and easiness on the part of pregnant women.
