Abstract
The disaster prevention map is a handy and effective tool to reduce the damage of the natural disaster. It is expected that GIS (Geographic Information System) and the cellular phone with camera and GPS (Global Positioning System) are effective as the tool of making the disaster prevention map. We have investigated current states such as the street fire extinguishers, the disaster prevention wells, etc., for two months in 2004 in cooperation with the local population to make the disaster prevention map of Tsujido district in Fujisawa city using the GPS cellular phone and GIS. In this research, we introduce the examination process and the problems on the way of making the disaster prevention map using the IT tools.
