Abstract
This study examined the relationship between shapes of street light and impressions of streets created by the lights. By extracting creative factors, 52 street lights were classified to reveal four types of lighting equipment and seven types of legs. Based on the result and combination of these two features, 28 models were created. Using four types of evaluation terms, image evaluation was carried out by using four types of evaluation terms of 28 models and the composite pictures of models and two streets scenes each having different sights. Evaluation revealed that there were formative factors which influence the impression of streets and that these factors differed according to differences of streets. Impressions of streets are thus created as the street light shapes and the scenery of street mutually influence each other.
