A study on application of technique and mode of expression of "KAPPAZURI"

Abstract

This study aims to reach for the mode of expression of engraving and to put the technique and the characteristic to account at the present age. Especially, I took notice of "KAPPAZURI". "KAPPAZURI" is a kind of stencile and has been used in the engraving especially from of old. It was usually used as a subsidiary technique. So, in this study I reached for the mode of application which not as a subsidiary technique or pure art but as a method which put "KAPPAZURI" itself to acount. After inspecting for characteristic and advantage of the technique, I sought a new playground of "KAPPAZURI" from respect of materials, shape and representation, and illustrated by making some works.
