Abstract
The need for the design method that enables the products to ensure robust performance in diverse conditions has increased due to increased diversity of the user and environment. In the present study, a robust design method for diverse conditions was proposed by using Quality Function Deployment that enables designers to understand the relationship between design factors and Robust Index that evaluate the feasibility of the objective characteristic being within tolerance, and the proposed design method was applied to a seat design problem. As a result, effectiveness of the proposed design method was confirmed. Additionally, a seat mechanism with improved robustness of function was proposed.
