Abstract
On security printing products such as banknotes,securities and various certificates, one finds unique esign elements formed with geometric lines. They are called guilloche patterns and, while they appear to be mere ornament, their main purpose is to deter counterfeiting. An invention of the Guilloche machine during the industrial revolution, further complicated drawing designs was appeared. The expression of smooth lines emerged, which was impossible by free hand drawings before. It has come to be an anti-counterfeiting technology.
