A Fundamental Research for Development of Navigation System to Motivate Wheelchair Users for Strolling a Town

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design a navigation system to raising wheelchair user's motivation to go out. We used a mobile terminal and developed the navigation system institutional information, and so forth. We conducted an evaluation experiment by investigating user's responses for walking or cycling as a basis to analyze the usability and preference. Based on this research the specialized navigation system for wheelchair will be proposed and tested to be in improving a user's motivation to stroll around a town.
