Abstract
In 2012, a media design practice, “Bibai Karuta (a card game of the Japanese syllabary) ”, was conducted to create regional karuta in Bibai City, Hokkaido. After that, based on the contents of the object presented by the participants, I will analyze the image of the region that has been expressed in the karuta cards. We will also examine the characteristics of the expression. Finally, we will consider the creation of the mechanism that shares the image of the region, the role that this kind of media design practice plays, and future issues.
