Abstract
The authors developed some tools for supporting childsafe product design using the measure data of 2,228 children’s aged 6 months old to 13 years old. These data have been accumulated by Research Institute of Human Engineering for Quality Life (HQL) and National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) since 2005 in Japan. The data includes over 50 kinds of body measurements. The developed tools are in the followings: 1) a data book on the measure of Japanese children, 2) digital data on various kinds of posture of children, 3) a portable measure of children, 4) and portable absolute scale models of children.
