Abstract
After foreign companies have entered Japan after 2002, hotel developments,
especially foreign urban hotels have been rapidly increasing strategically
with their own style providing differentiation with other hotels creating a
boom for hotels. However, in this situation Japanese invested hotels which
are in financial slumps or unwillingly forced to close down are in need of
change and as a result there is necessity renovate and to dig for a new
identity and purpose.
The aim of our research is to explore potentials of designs of new small
scale hotel with top notch service by analyzing and evaluating the
impression the hotel offers through the composition and elements of the
space and the direction of design.
