Abstract
"How do people structure an image of a place and their relationship towards it?" Within this question lays the key in revealing a place's distinct features and characteristics. So we decided to approach it from one's memory. First, we drew up 100 sketches of a Tokyo suburb based on memories. From these sketches we reconstructed an existing map and extracted key components and stories that make up a landscape. And in tern, explored ways to expressing "TOPOS" something which encompasses both the physical environment and unconscious image. Our aim is to discover and share the distinct features and characteristics with people. We feel that this process will enable the next  approach to environmental planning for the future.
