Abstract
In this paper, I discuss the creation process of visual culture in the fashion magazines, "Harper’s Bazaar", "ELLE" and "an an". Japanese designers were inspired by artistic visual approaches in "Harper’s Bazaar". The popular visual magazine "an an" had been influencing a life-style of Japanese young women in the 1970s. The study leads to the conclusion that the roots of the methodology of design and fashion photograph from "Harper’s Bazaar" and "ELLE". It can be further concluded that the fashion magazine has been one of the design resources in the visual culture.
