Evaluation of Transferred Load by Harness During Walking

A Study on Stress Reduction for Easy Walk for the Visually Impaired with Guide Dogs (part 3).

Abstract

In this paper, walking tests were carried out to investigate transferred load on guide dogs during walking with the visually impaired. Four types of harness, standard type, twisted type, straight type and arched type were adopted to evaluate the effect of shape of harness on the transferred load. 
 The results of walking tests explain as follows; 1) The average of transferred load were about 1 ~ 11N. 2) The straight type harness increase transferred load on right side. 3) Tests results by straight type and arched type agree with numerical results.
