An experimental trial of mobile device web-based explanations for exhibits at museums

Abstract

For museums, it is often difficult to find the best location for captions describing three-dimensional object on display. For this purpose, information about display items, such as names and explanatory notes, can be provided using mobile devices. Additionally, a system is proposed for sharing high quality contents that have been peer reviewed by museum curators and other commentators. An experimental trial of the system was carried out and its effectiveness was verified.
