Abstract
This paper is aimed design proposal of using bamboo as furniture and interior material of being conducive to the interior disaster prevention. For the primary and secondary processing material of bamboo, experiments were performed on visual sensory characteristics and mechanical properties. The following results were obtained. The primary processing material with surface has strong mechanical properties to utilize as strengthening members. Secondary processing material can be expected to utilize as main structure member, because its mechanical properties are more stable than primary processing material without surface. Also, woven structure of sheet-formed secondary processing material is light with high tensile strength property.
