Motion Design in the Computer Graphics Animation work “12 Boxes”

Abstract

“12 Boxes” is a work of animation where 12 cubes are carried by various mechanisms. The motion of the mechanisms that carry the cubes were devised to create an amusing work with a pleasant mood. There are four main points in the motion production: things that can be understood via the function and structure of the motion, timing differences in the motion creating a kind of rhythm, continuity through the smooth connection of different motions, and the unexpected development of the different motions.
