Abstract
This paper attempts to make a concise report of our project for a non-verbal communication by means of projection mapping, which was exhibited at Ars Electronica 2015 in Linz. This project consists of white “Kimono” screen and “Tanmono” panel. Audience can enjoy and understand the way how Kimonos are made from a bolt of Tanmono fabric in Japanese tradition by taking an “Uchiwa” fan as a controller of moving images projected on Kimono screen, and selecting the cutting area on the Tanmono panel corresponding to parts of Kimono as sleeves, collars and so on. This project is an experiment aimed at a prototype of designed space for active communications without gap of language nor culture.
