Production of dynamics toys reproducing the dynamic characteristics of folk toy

A simplified daruma doll, balancing toy, and the BEAK

Abstract

Three forms of the tumbler, the balancing toy and the pheasant car, which is of Kitayamada of the Hita district Oita Prefecture, were selected as representative folk toys in order to elucidate the dynamic characteristics. The three simplified dynamics models were designed according to the dynamic characteristics of the three toys which were read from those movements.And, the relationships between the center gravity of things and the gravity, the inertia force on the center, and the supporting point that affects the movement of the things were clarified through some educational experiments with the dynamics models.
