Abstract
In design, sketching is used to generate design ideas for design proposals, but still life drawing skills are emphasized in design education. There are many differences between sketching and still life drawing, they have some similarities such as both are perspective methods and expressions of shading. This study considers the differences in drawing skills through a comparative analysis of still life drawings and design sketches. The analysis result suggest that both skills are taught independently as different skills, there are commonalities in the use of individual skills, including representation of shape and shading.
