Workshop design using the performance expression

A study on the case of "Hermit crabs" in the Tokyo Sea Life Park

Abstract

This paper is the summary of a collaborative workshop which was planned and organized by Chiba Institute of Technology and Tokyo Sea Life Park. The objective of this study is to test the effectiveness of learning in combining the observation of a creature and pretending to be that creature itself. The subject of the workshop this time is the hermit crab. The workshop was analyzed based on the emotional changes among the participants following a procedure using the “impression thermometer” after every process stage.
