Systematization of seating comfort research knowledge

Verification by applying to automobile passenger seats

Abstract

In recent years, there has been a growing attention to the "seating comfort" researches. However, research topics are complicated and vary widely, it is difficult for a designer to use accurately design knowledge during the development of chairs.
In this study, systematization of seating comfort research knowledge from literatures was done based on the framework of Multispace design model. Verification of seating comfort knowledge system had done by applying to automobile passenger seat functional design. The results show the possibility of its effectiveness for seat design.
