Intelligibility of Pictogram in Sign at school for Special Needs Education

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to plan the Universal Sign system for all people who included people with disabilities.
The past study clarified the 3 condition of Pictogram what was easy intelligibility. This study investigated whether the meaning of Pictogram that the condition was applied in the school environment. We examined intelligibility of 5 Pictogram in Sign (N=52).
As a result, 3 designed Pictogram were easy to understand those meanings by 90% of the people by Questionnaire survey .
