Interactive diagram visualizing color data of urban landscape

Abstract

In this research, we propose a digital diagram named “Irosashi” that can exploratory discover the characteristics of urban landscape from the color data collected from the building in the western part of Hakodate City. “Irosashi” displays the color of buildings according to the selection of the type, part and location of the building. During the experiment, the subjects used “Irosashi”, and from various perspectives, the characteristics of the western part of Hakodate City were discovered.
