Abstract
Mortality from stroke is high in the northern and northeastern areas (Aomori, Akita, and Iwate prefecture) of Japan. One of the major reasons is the high intake of salt by the inhabitants of these areas. With the aim of reducing salt intake, we propose not to sell the low-salt soy sauce at the supermarket or a convenience store. The author proposes selling it at bookstores with a packaging design that bears resemblance to a health book. To this end, the author proposes to sell it with a packaging design that has the image of a dictionary’s spine.
