Abstract
Recently, hand and finger gestures controls are quite popular in 2D interface systems , such as smart phone. However, for 3D modeling, these gestures are not optimized for designer’s thinking yet. In general, it is necessary to understand a lot of commands and complicated procedures of 3DCG tools to create spatial model. In this paper, we consider about the intuitive hand-gesture interface to operate models in virtual space. We research and exam the commands of representative CG tools and establish the fundamental gesture-based modeling methods. Then the intuitive spatial interface used with motion tracking technology are developed. In conclusion, the proposed systems are examined and compared with conventional 3D CG tools to verify the advantage of design support system.
