Activation project utilizing rainwater harvesting in Akashima, Goto Islands, Nagasaki Prefecture

Abstract

Akashima is a small island in Goto City, Nagasaki prefecture. The residents of this island live using rainwater saved at each household. However, it is difficult to revitalize the island, because it can use only the stored rainwater. Therefore, we began making facilities to store rain water from the summer of 2017. The equipment we make is also used for experiences of life using rainwater. We named this activity "Shimaame Lab", and we are building equipment and public relations activities.
