In this paper, the author describes the traditional handicraft of Iwate prefecture, Nambu Tekki, a traditional Japanese tea kettle.Generally, design preferences differ depending on the area; therefore, the marketer indicates the design conditions. However, Nambu Tekki belongs to the crafts field; therefore, it is difficult for designers to identify moldings that are unsuitable for mass production. In this study, 47 design variations were divergently considered, and their creativity was verified. Further, through interviews with craftsmen, it was confirmed whether the design could be mass-produced and organized.
