Abstract

In Japan, there is a traditional tea ceremony called sado. In sado, master often hangs the hanging scroll. And hanging scroll in sado expresses the theme of the tea ceremony and the hospitality of master to guests. On the other hand, Japanese people have less chance to touch tea ceremony due to changes in living environment. In this study, we focus on hanging scrolls in Sado and analyze the communication that took place there. And the purpose is to establish a new hanging scroll that can be seen by many people, or an alternative expression method.
