Abstract : We sense atmosphere and impression of the city while walking. The authors aim to visualize sensory feature of Yoita area in Niigata prefecture, by designing maps which show vague atmosphere of the area. This paper (Part 1) shows process of deciding topics and collecting data for the maps by conducting fieldworks.Firstly, the authors walked around Yoita area to explore topics of the maps.
