Host: Japanese Society for the Science of Design
Based in North Tohoku and Hokkaido, the author has been practicing to learn the meaning of living rooted in the land with people who are engaged in primary industry. A study of a series of hands-on design in society reveals the complexity of the society in which people face each other. This complexity has become the “question” for the next activity and the “motivation” for autonomously moving one’s own projects. From such a background, the author tried a design seminar to find the “research question” of his own practice from the design activities based on the Life-World. To discuss the learning process until students can have their own “questions” in the 3rd year pre-seminar instruction and the practice starting from “questions” in the 4th year graduation research seminar instruction. Consider the methodological framework.
