Abstract

We have been studying eye-catching three-dimensional signboards using the reverse perspective illusion. So far, we have designed a three-dimensional character objects of uppercase alphabetic letters and proposed a method of producing them by digital fabrication. In this study, we examined the design of three-dimensional signboards for lowercase letters. We clarified the shape and shading conditions for the illusion for all letters, and defined them as font shapes that can be created by electronic manipulation.
