Abstract

We researched aircraft passenger space design and focused on the Douglas DC-4, a large four-engine aircraft, which was not suitable for long-haul international flights. However, there are aircraft was converted to engines capable of high-altitude flight with pressurized cabin. We found in the DC-4 the characteristics of the transition to the modern passenger space. We compared these historical circumstances with those of other passenger options, and propose the designs for the future of air passenger space and services.
