Abstract

We devised a "Facial Rock-paper-scissors'' program that incorporates facial expressions and vocalizations of swallowing training into facial rock-paper-scissors using orofacial exercises. The rehabilitation program to maintain and improve swallowing and cognitive functions can be easily performed using a tablet terminal or PC. In addition, to develop a program that can be expected to have psychological effects of improving mood, we investigated the psychological evaluation of the programs with different facial expressions. It was confirmed that a program that stretches the mouth to the left and right and raises the corners of the mouth to make a smiling face with a "scissors" expression is more suitable as a "Facial rock-paper-scissors" program than the tongue-outing facial expression program.
